Some of the inclusions on Number 1's: Classic Disco are bound to leave the most knowledgeable disco-era DJs scratching their heads: 'Wait, that thing went to number one?' With the exception of Michael Sembello 's 'Maniac' (which topped the pop chart), each track here did reach the top of the disco/club chart. That includes some obvious stuff, like the Village People 's 'YMCA' and Lipps, Inc. 's 'Funkytown,' as well as a few songs that haven't remained quite as popular throughout the years -- Love and Kisses ' 'Thank God It's Friday,' the Ritchie Family 's 'Brazil,' Edwin Starr 's 'Contact,' Roberta Kelly 's 'Trouble-Maker.'
