VOCALS Alma Balier enjoys a firmly established reputation as a remarkably gifted artist who has performed at The Purple Onion and Basin Street West in her native San Francisco as well such showrooms as Chicago's Mr. Kelly's, The Las Vegas Riviera and Harrah's Lake Tahoe and Reno. Her commanding vocals have been broadcast nationally on a wide range of television commercials. She has Appeared with such noted jazz legends as Duke Ellington, Joe Williams and Mel Torme. A versatile song stylist, she sings every thing from enduring ballads and Broadway show music to pure jazz and blues. MUSIC Composer, arranger, conductor, studio musician, accompanist and jazz piano virtuoso, Larry Novak met his late wife, Carol Coleman Novak, while the two were part of the great Chicago jazz scene in the 1950's and 60's when Carol was a pianist/singer at the Legendary London House and Larry was musical director at the equally famous Mr. Kelly's. Carol eventually merged her illustrious career a a performer and songwriter with that of managing the Novak family which included raising their son, Gary Novak, now an internationally acclaimed drummer. Larry has performed with such reknowned vocalists as Peggy Lee, Sara Vaughn, Mel Torme, Joe Williams, Pearl Bailey and Natalie Cole. He has appeared with numerous notable jazz artists including Doc Severson, Clark Terry, Al Hirt, Buddy Rich, 'Buddy De Franco, Chick Correa and the Louis Bellson Quartette. He has been a frequent guest on 'Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz' and at the Chicago Jazz Showcase as well as appearing as a soloist with the Chicago Grant Park and Ravinia Symphony Orchestras. WORDS A sensitive and versatile writer, Julian Frazin's lyrics have been sung by Lucy Reed, Christi Ogelvie, Jimmy Damon and Ron Hawking. They have been featured on television's Children's Miracle Network, several national industrial shows as well as on stage in more than 40 topical, satirical revues produced annually in Chicago. He is also so the author of musical adaptations of 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier,' and Herman Kogan's 'Lords of the Levee' and an original musical 'The Chicago Story: From Daley to Daley.' A retired judge, lawyer, editorial cartoonist, entertainment columnist and college professor, Julian has been first and foremost a writer of lyrics who would like to be remembered as someone with a gift for writing words which best express the longings and feelings of every human heart.
