Well chosen selections, some relatively uncommon songs and versions. Audio quality is typical of the era, ok, not outstanding. - Daniel Dillon, 06/07/2007, USA
3-disc boxed set of Duke's transcriptions from his underrated 1946-7 band. Hodges and Greer are still here, Cat Anderson has come on board, and the band still cooks. The quality of these tracks shows clearly why Duke had one of the last surviving big bands, and selections here range from old Duke standards to new contemporary jazz-influenced showcases. The sound quality is great and an informative illustrated book is included.
