Rap duo Gang Starr has gathered its greatest hits for Mass Appeal: The Best of Gang Starr, a deluxe CD/DVD release including 21 tracks and 13 music videos. Before their recent split, Guru and DJ Premier recorded seven full-length albums and gained critical acclaim from hip-hop fans. 'The longevity comes from being in touch, connected with the streets, being a fan,' Guru told music journalist Soren Baker, who has penned the compilation's linear notes. This is the first single disc hits collection from one of the most influential groups in hip-hop, fully maxed with 20 tracks including seven Top 10 Billboard singles and bonus tracks not on the 2 disc set.
