A progressive rock album.
- John Steve Yap, 12/20/2006, Philippines

One of the great recordings of the 1970s. For all those who dislike Phil C., and there is plenty of reason to dislike him or at least think he is dull as ditchwater, listen to him play drums on this recording; he's brilliant. This i 'progressive rock' in the sense that there are streches in odd meters, long song forms, and obtuse lyrics; but with the perspective of time it is easy to see how close much of this is to simpler songs strung together in a clever way There is no noodling soloing, the playing is very disciplined and fit to very imaginative arrangements, and it all contributes to real drama.
- Hal Dean, 07/30/2004, USA

One of the great works in Rock. It can take you places. If you have never heard it before, do it soon. One of the best albums of all time.
- Henry Crall, 07/10/2002, USA

Excellent early Genesis with Gabriel.
- Scott Wittevrongel, 10/19/1999, USA

Every song is a classic.
- Dion C Detterer, 01/01/1999, Australia

One of the early truly progressive albums by Peter Gabriel's Genesis. This is a good remastering which brings out the layers of guitars and keyboards and adds more dynamic range to the whole sound. An improvement over the earlier CD reissue and the LP. There is some great music on this, especially if you like drama and mellotrons.
- James P Kain, 10/08/1998, USA

Superb album! Six great tracks with outstanding musicianship. 'Can-Utility an the Coastliners' is one of Genesis's best! The album reflects the band in their prime. Warning: If you're into commercial music (like recent Genesis), you probably won't like this much.
- Aj Sherman, 07/05/1997, USA
