This is one of my favorite recordings by John Coltrane. 'Lonnies Lament', 'Spiritual'. Oh Lord, thank you for the gifts you gave to John, that he could share his music.

The performances are excellent but unfortunately the production is rather uneven; most of the time it's pretty good but there are a couple tracks where it gets really bad right in the middle. Trane and Elvin in particular have just unbelieveable energy all over.
