When you listen to my songs, you will discover what I think is important in life. I care about people, especially those that I have gotten to know--my family, my students. I think about issues in the world today, and those concerns show up in my lyrics, as well. I also love to have fun and some of my songs are light-hearted.Most of the songs on the LIVE album are of the light and fun variety, but not all of them. Song for Kristina is serious. I was thinking of all the things that can hurt someone, especially a teenage girl just going out into the world.I also wrote a song specifically from the perspective of a teacher, who gets to know people every year, then watches as they leave my door. Some I never hear from again. Some die before they reach 20. Some come back and help me remember why it is that I love teaching so much.To all you students out there--of every age-- I hope you enjoy this CD. It was written for you.
