 Notes & Reviews
I was born in 1958 and raised in Hialeah Florida, near Miami. My father was a musician and taught me to play the piano when I was 6 years old. As I matured, my parents encouraged me in the performing arts and I was given lessons in singing, dancing, and acting. I actually got a part in The Sound of Music with Ann Blythe in a two-week production on Miami Beach. In 7th grade, I joined the school orchestra and learned to play the flute. I joined a 'Rock' band for one year in 9th grade with three young men. The band was called Legend and I played keyboards, flute, and sang. And at the age of 15 I received my first guitar, a 12-string Epiphone, and taught myself how to play so that I could accompany myself when I sang. I started composing songs when I was about 14, and beginning at 17 I began to play at restaurants where I worked as a waitress. I played my guitar and sang a lot of songs by Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, and other artists of the day. The theme of my songs took a turn when I started attending fellowships and taking classes with The Way International; a world wide, non-denominational Biblical research, teaching, and fellowship ministry. I now wanted my songs to glorify God and help people to find their way to God through an accurate knowledge of His Word-which requires accurate lyrics. My first cassette that I produced was called, You are God's Dream. My second cassette, which comprised all original songs, was called, Sharing God's Word. They were under my maiden name, Melody Ann Keesler and were primarily sold to family and friends. After graduating from a four-year Christian leadership program, called The Way Corps, getting married and having 3 children, I began to find time to produce my first piano instrumental CD, Endurance, which was released in 2001. Now, inspired by many wonderful teachings from God's Word regarding the family, as well as having lived the principles of being a wife and mother, I am proud to release my latest album, Priorities. I presently reside in Kingsport, Tennessee and look forward to seeing the fruit of my labor as my business of marketing my CDs flourishes. My greatest paycheck is seeing how my music blesses people and enriches their lives.
