Moonrakers : Beneath The Snow

This is Moonrakers' second album. It is more 'English' than the first, featuring a wide variety of instruments and vocals. If ou enjoy the authentic sound of a village band along with some contemporary songs, this is for you!Moonrakers is an Oxford-based multi-instrumental quartet playing Celtic traditional music and some original tunes and songs in the idiom. We play harp, flute, mandola, fiddle, guitar and whistles and sing in close harmony with male and female voices. The overall sound has a rich texture of melody and counter-melody, described by BBC Oxford as 'an exquisite blend of relaxing music'. The banda€™s trademark sound is unusual arrangements, ranging from the simple beauty of Oa€™Carolan tunes to the more complex instrumental interplay of several dance tunes. Much of the material is drawn from the traditions of the Celtic lands a€“ Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.
