 Notes & Reviews
Certainly one of his major steps; a must for any music buff.
- James Radford, 07/21/2008, New Zealand

Not his best, but it is one of my favorite Neil Young albums. Eerie, much like Martin Scorsese's 'Bringing Out the Dead'.
- Tom Vaswani, 11/05/2007, Singapore

Another chapter in my library of music completed.
- Leigh J Hoebing, 12/05/2005, USA

A Neil Young classic. Such a highpoint in songwriting when he was at a personal lowpoint. Lots of melancholy but also lots of perceptiveness.
- Duncan Marshall, 07/14/2004, Australia

I think this one on Neil Young best albums and still stands the test of time.
- Dale Mincey, 05/24/2004, USA

Walk on Revolution Blues Vampire Blues on the Beach About to Rain. On the Beach is the fifth studio album by Neil Young, released in 1974. It was unavailable on compact disc until it was released as a HDCD-encoded remastered version on August 19, 2003 as part of his Archives Digital Masterpiece Series. Recorded after (but released before) Tonight's the Night, On the Beach shares some of that album's bleakness and crude production?which came as a shock to fans and critics alike, as this was the long-awaited studio follow-up to the commercially and critically successful Harvest?but also included hints pointing towards a more subtle outlook, particularly on the opener, 'Walk On'.
