 Notes & Reviews
Bio '...a master storyteller who knows how to wrap each song in an intensely personal cloak.' J. Doug Gill, Musicians Monthly Ray Weaver is first and foremost, a songwriter. He has the rare ability to transform life into songs that are intensely personal, yet still touch a universal chord. Encouraged by the reviews of his debut release, 'What You Wish For', Ray took his songs to Nashville. That lead to a publishing deal with Songs for Darshan Music and cuts by the Hard Travelers, Brandi Chapman, Buddy Renfro, Tiffany Rebstock (a Texas artist who recorded an entire album of Ray Weaver songs), and Tim Malchak. 'The song writing talent here is really pretty formidable, the names of Steve Earle, Townes van Zandt and Guy Clark all spring to mind.' Doug Floyd, altcountrytab.com Ray Weaver is also an established international performer. A well known face in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US, Ray was recognized for his forceful and compelling stage presence. He played concerts and clubs from New York to the Carolinas, appearing with artists like Colin Raye, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Porter Wagonner. In Nashville, Ray performed regularly at the Bluebird Cafe, the 16th Avenue Cafe, and as lead singer for the house band at the Turf on lower Broadway. He met some Danish artists that were recording in Nashville, and when they invited him to play with them in Denmark, an international career was launched. 'Ray Weaver writes memorable songs that you want to hear again and again...Knut Andre'Dale, Musikkguiden Groove.no Since then Ray has performed in countless venues throughout Europe. He has re-released his critically acclaimed project, 'What You Wish For', and his new CD, 'Confession' is now available. '...has the potential to move up into the big leagues...' Dirty Linen.
