| 2009 two CD compilation. Put simply, T-Bone Walker was the most influential Electric Blues guitarist ever. If that sounds an exaggeration, study the guitar styles of B.B. King, Clarence Gatemouth Brown and a dozen others, recall the stage antics of Chuck Berry and listen to the expressive vocals of Bobby Bland. All were influenced by an artist whose career spanned the history of the Blues. Critic John Clarke rightly eulogized Walker and could have added Mike Bloomfield, Albert King, Eric Clapton, Lowell Fulson and Albert Collins and many others to the roll call of performers who have derived much of their sound from the pioneering work of walker. 52 tracks. essence. |
