Their breakthrough album. Though there are a good number of covers on this album -- I keep thinking about the original artists each time I hear them -- this is a must for any Carpenters collector because, to my knowledge, it is the only release containing the full-length version of 'Close to You'. One track, 'Crescent Noon', is stunning. Richard and Karen were finally formulating a winning style.
