Cars : Heartbeat City

I had forgotten how much fun this album was. A wonderful collection of everything from the spacey title track to the bizarro-pop of 'Hello Again' and 'It's Not The Night' to the easy pop groove of 'You Might Think' make for an enjoyable - and still surpr ising - listening experience of '80s music from one of the era's often overlooked trailblazers. And let's not foget the irresistible hits, 'Magic' and 'Drive', both at the top of the Top 40 class. An all-around gem in my opinion.

When this album first came out in 1984, it was a big part of my life. The Cars captured the rock sound of the mid-'80s. I wore out my vinyl copy.
