The tipoff to this album is its producer, Daniel Lanois, of U2 fame. Lanois nestles Emmy in a swirl of ethereal sounds, without burying that gorgeous voice. Like Neil Young (whose 'Wrecking Ball' is the title track), Harris is one of few artists who can survive radical shifts of style and emerge a winner. Understandably, Elektra is not marketing this one C&W, but for those not hung up on labels, this album is a brilliant look at a new side of the eclectic Emmylou.
