Brings a sense of urgency and focus to a work that has suffered from a history of over pretentious BPO/Karajan style interpretations. The'stripped down' style of original instruments and smaller orchestra size, and the spirited performance takes the 'work' out of a genre of interpretation that has in many cases blurred the sense of impact and importance in this composer's later work. - Grant R Dixon, 08/27/1997, Australia Full title is: Beethoven: Missa Solemnis All Music Guide Title is: Beethoven: Mass in D Op123 SPARS: DDD Length: 71:37 Released: 1990 Booklet: 16 pages Booklet printed in the following languages: English Libretto printed in the following languages: English, Latin
