It could well be argued that 'The Ghost and Mrs. Muir' is Herrmann's finest score. Whatever the merits of that argument, this issue of the original 1947 soundtrack exceeds expectations. The sound as derived from the original optical tapes is genuine stereo and is quite spectacular in spite of a (very) occasional bit of tape noise. This tape noise does not detract in any way from the excellence of this issue.
