This is one of the best of his rarer, early recordings, with a young Gould already adding the usual extra dimension to music with his unique touch of the piano keyboard. These are originally not piano pieces as such, and Gould, with his exceptionally i nsightful approach, almost manages to make a subdued piano sound like a Tudor virginal. This is a very pleasant surprise from the late Glenn Gould, with excellent sound quality on Sony Masterworks with 20-bit re-mastering.
