Smooth R&B, Soulful, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Love Every decade or two the entertainment industry surprisingly discovers the abilities and vocal superiority of a musical genius. That musical genius has materialized in the form of Jerome Jackson. Mr. Jackson always has the showmanship, dedication and range to become a leading vocalist but his talents were always shadowed or ignored. His early experiences began with gospel music at the age of 12, performing with James Cleveland and Shirley Caesar, gaining confidence and showmanship. He officially began his professional career in 1971 with the group Richmond Extension in Richmond, Virginia under the direction of Disco artist Van McCoy who recorded the legendary hit 'The Hustle'. Jerome went on to release a single entitled 'Everything's Coming up Love'. He continues to perform in the around the Virginia area with the Richmond Extension until 1976 at which point he moved on and joined a new R&B group called 'The Jones'. So thereafter they changed their name to the 'Nobles' and recorded an album with CBS Records and released a single called 'Nobody But You' off the LP. Finally in 1981 after ten years in the industry he began a solo career by rejoining Van McCoy and released the singled 'I Never Believed In Love Until I Fell In Love With You'. His career now had some stability and fulfillment; he would see be big credible opportunities. In 1986, the big opportunity came when he joined the top R&B group Main Ingredient which consisted of Cuba Gooding Sr. and Tony Sylvester. In 1990 another huge break came when he joined the infamous Drifters. Jerome went on to acclaimed performances on Soul Train, The Apollo Theatre and both Inaugural Balls for President Bill Clinton. Jerome Jackson's acting abilities afforded him the opportunity to perform in the Broadway production of Porgy and Bess as a character, which showcased his raw acting and singing talents.
