Perhaps Norman himself didn't know that he has such a great folk singer's voice 'till =Back home...= came out in 1972. =Back home..= is American folk music with a bluegrass skin, with only guitar, one occasional mandolin and a dobro, played by one of the best in the trade. Like the great Arthel Watson, here Norman plays the fiddle standards/tunes with amazing, rathe unbelievable expertise accomplishing an absolute mastery on guitar. He never overdid things to exhibit skills instead his sense of subtlety and composure speaks for his greatness. The days of folk and bluegrass are over but an album like this is always time tested and makes listeners feel happy with its 24 carat goodness.
