 Notes & Reviews

The remote on the backup band is not very good.
- William E Goff, 07/10/2006, USA

The music is good, but Etta James sounds like Janice Joplin on this album. She has not found her own voice yet.
- Alexandra Silber, 03/10/1997, USA

This is a live album by a young Etta James playing a small club in Nashville before some of her enthusiastic fans. The title 'Rocks The House' is no exaggeration -- that's exactly what she does. One of the rawest and most exciting live albums this reviewer has ever heard. The real thing in its natural element!
- William Sakovich, 01/10/1997, Japan

Full title is: Etta James Rocks the House

Etta was in the midst of her run of big Argo hits when this 1963 Nashville show was taped. This is one of the most thrilling live albums ever: Something's Got a Hold on Me; What'd I Say; Seven Day Fool; Sweet Little Angel, and more plus three unissued bonus cuts!
